- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, aspirin or blood thinners 24 hours before your appointment
- No fish oil, vitamin E or Niacin 1 week prior to service
- Do not work out day of the procedure
- If you have had any surgeries in the area you need to wait 2 months or until completely healed to have service done
- avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure
- No facials or resurfacing treatments 2-4 weeks prior to procedure
- Avoid tweezing, waxing or tinting ! week before service
- Not botox or filler ! month before treatment
Day of treatment: For 2 hours after the procedure dab fluids from the surface of the brows. After 2 hours gently clean the brows by; washing your hands, gently applying provided cleanser and then rinsing with room temperature water. Apply a very thin layer of provided ointment, to the area once dried. Repeat this process morning and night for the remainder of the healing.
Next 7 days: Continue cleaning the brows morning and night. You may also apply ointment in the afternoon, if needed. Avoid exercise, sweating, direct sunlight, moisture (other than when cleaning) makeup or hair in the area, touching or picking at scabs. Keep area clean to minimize risk of infection.
Next 30 days: Avoid sunbathing, chemical peels, enzymes, microdermabrasion and creams that contain acids or retinols. Always protect your eyebrows with SPF.
**cold sores**
-cold sores are a risk of the procedure
-they can occur even if you have never had one
-if you have ever had a cold sore in the past you should speak with your doctor prior to the procedure.
-call your doctor and inform them you are getting a lip tattoo procedure, they should be able to give you an antiviral to pick up at the pharmacy.
-failure to follow these instructions will effect the end result.
Precare:
- Lips cannot be dry or chapped. Exfoliating 3 days before the service to remove dead skin and for the week before moisturize as much as possible.
- Do not work out the day of the procedure.
- No alcohol, caffeine, blood thinners 24 hours before procedure.
- Avoid sun and tanning 1 week before procedure.
- Discontinue retinols, AHAs 4 weeks before procedure
- Must wait 4 weeks after lip filler, no lip filler for 4 weeks after procedure.
Immediately After: The area will be sore and look more intense. There may be swelling and minor bruising, this should be gone in 1-2 days. Applying ice might help.
Day of procedure: Fluids will leak from the tattoo. You do not want it to sit on the tattoo to help minimize scabbing. Wipe the tattoo with wet cotton round to remove the fluid and pat dry. You may see color coming off on your wipe, this is normal. Reapply ointment to keep lips moisturized. You may apple ice to the area to help with any swelling and pain. Do not apply ice directly to lips.
Day 2-5: Do not touch your lips with dirty fingers, it is an open wound, and we want to avoid any chance fro infection.
Don't get your tattoo wet for to long. It will make the scabs soggy and fall off prematurely. You want to keep the scabs on for as long as possible and let them fall of naturally. This will give you better pigment retention. Keep lips moisturized with provided ointment.
Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting scabs prematurely. Make sure you are sleeping on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.
Avoid harsh cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on the area until the scabs have come off.
Vitamin E, C and retinol can lighten to fade tattoo.
Wearing SPF is recommended as the UV rays will deteriorate the pigment. Saltwater and Chlorine can also make pigment fade faster.
Results will vary person to person. Longevity is typically 1-3 years before you will need a color refresh. These sessions will help with the longevity of the procedure.
Lips may be dry for 3-6 months after the procedure.
- Eyelash extensions must be removed 2 weeks before the procedure
- Discontinue lash growth serums 4 weeks before procedure
- No alcohol, caffeine, or blood thinners 24 hours before procedure. This includes aspirin, fish oil, niacin, vitamin E, ibuprofen
- Do not workout the day of the procedure
- Avoid sun and tanning a week prior to the procedure.
- 4 weeks before the procedure discontinue any glycolic acids, rationals or exfoliating products
- If you had any surgical procedures done in the eye area you must wait 2 months and be fully healed before eyeliner procedure
- No facials or chemical peels 1 week prior to the procedure
- Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
Day of Procedure: Do not touch eyes. You may ice eye but do not apply it directly to the eye. Do not wash eyes, try to keep them dry. You may take Tylenol for any pain.
Day 2: The eyes may swell the day after the procedure, it is a normal reaction. The swelling should go down by the end of the day.
Day 3-4: If the skin feels very dry by day 3 you may apply a small amount of ointment. Wash hands before applying ointment.
Next 7 days: Avoid water makeup, sweating, saunas, pools and tanning.
Do not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten the skin.
